  • Saliva test for health

Do you want to know exactly what is going on in your mouth? When we see inflammation, swollen gums, red gums, puffy gums, or bone loss indicated by increased pocket depths or receded gumlines, we are able to determine if the cause is from toxic bacteria in the mouth and tissues. We are now utilizing a simple oral saliva test that can tell us exactly which bacteria are residing in your mouth and the best methods to attack that bacteria and reduce it to healthy levels. This testing is by Oral DNA Labs® and is called MYPERIOPATH® Report.

Utilizing this report and specific disinfection techniques, we are able to provide you with the most up-to-date gum and complete health treatment possible.

  • Digital Radiographs (X-Rays)

Digital radiographs are a technological advancement that results in less exposure to radiation and an almost instantaneous picture. Unlike traditional, film-based x-rays, digital x-rays often show more detail and can be archived in a computerized system for future reference, comparison, and treatment explanation. Thanks to digital radiography in the practice, you will appreciate a more comfortable visit with less waiting and quicker treatment.

  • Panograph Full-Series Radiographs

Our newest technology addition is the Sirona Orthophos XG 3D®. A highly calibrated machine, that significantly reduces the exposure you receive. We are currently using this machine along with 4 digital bite-wing x-rays to complete a "full mouth series". This technology allows LifeSMILES to be able to scan 3D images of the jaw for accurate placement of dental implants around sinus cavities and in the lower jaw, avoiding the need to make a trip to a specialist office.

  • DIAGNOdent®

Stop your cavities in their infancy so they don't get out of hand. This new, high tech tool allows Dr. Arms to find cavities on the chewing surfaces of back teeth, even when they are just beginning and would have been missed by previous detection methods. The DIAGNOdent® is a small, portable laser unit that detects the cavity and alerts your LifeSMILES dentistry providers with an audible signal and a numerical readout, so they may assess the cavities size. In the past, cavities would have to be significantly bigger before they could be located and treated. Just like other areas of medicine and dentistry, early detection and treatment is of immeasurable value in preserving your health. So, DIAGNOdent® is a huge breakthrough for early detection and treatment of cavities and decay.

  • Implant supported Dentures

A loose and shifting denture is no longer a problem for many people. Dr. Arms and his assistants are trained to place dental implants and this can be a lifesaver for people suffering with dentures that will not stay in place. Implant supported dentures prevent dentures from coming loose while eating or talking. Chewing with an implant supported denture provides better chewing function. Implants in the bone help prevent further bone-loss of the jaw and mouth which keeps your mouth healthier and also will keep the facial structures fuller.

  • Implant tooth replacement

Are you missing a tooth? Would you like to have that unsightly space closed or filled in with a tooth? A single dental implant could be the best option for you to restore your smile. Today's dentistry is able to help replace many teeth lost in any area of the mouth. Single tooth implants are a great way to replace teeth that are lost next to healthy teeth. The advantages of single tooth implants are: closing an undesirable space in the mouth from a lost tooth, preventing further tooth loss because of adjacent or opposing teeth falling into the open space, a solid tooth for chewing. Dental implants are custom treatment for each case, they take a series of appointments to place and check healing and ensure that you get the ultimate healing required to get the best result. Digital images can be saved electronically and are more efficient than traditional photographs that show less detail and must be taken off-site for development.

  • Space Maintainer

Does your child need to have a baby tooth removed prior to it's natural loss?
We recommend retaining the space for the adult tooth with a space maintainer.
The space maintainer is placed around an adjacent tooth to hold the space where the tooth has been removed to prevent crowding by the near-by teeth as your child grows. The crowding will not allow the adult tooth to properly erupt because the needed space is no longer reserved for it.
This device may also aid in the reduction of time for orthodontics later in your childs life.

  • Intra-Oral Camera

If you are wondering what the dentist can see when he looks at your teeth, you haven't had an intra-oral camera (IOC) take a photo inside your mouth. We have an IOC located in each treatment room with the capability of taking a photo for you to see your tooth or teeth in detail. The advantage of this service helps you to make an informed decision, by seeing up close, the condition of your oral health.
