Dr. Brock Arms

After practicing in Holland, Michigan for ten years, Brock Arms moved to the Cadillac area in 2005 with his wife and oldest son. Prompted by his desire to move back to his roots and be closer to family and what other Cadillac area residents might call God's country, Dr. Arms puts his extensive education and clinical studies to use in his hometown. Having distinguished himself as an artisan in dentistry, Dr. Arms focuses on using his dental and clinical abilities to not only exceed the expectation of his patients, but offer leadership efforts, humanitarian aid and mission service to needy people locally and around the world as well.

Dr. Arms enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. His hobbies include hiking and photography.

Recently he was able to combine his love of both on an adventure to Patagonia, South America.

Dr. Arms has developed proven clinical excellence.

After working toward his bachelor's degree from Ferris State University, he earned his D.D.S. degree from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.

  • Upon graduation from dental school, he immediately entered the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency, also at the University of Michigan, where he received advanced training in each area of dentistry.
  • Following completion of the AEGD program, he was selected by one of the most prominent Prosthodontists (a specialist in replacing missing teeth) in west Michigan to become an associate in a Holland, Michigan practice.
  • Partnering with a Prosthodontist provided a unique opportunity to develop outstanding skills in many areas including crown and bridge, dental implants, dentures and cosmetic work.
  • Dr. Arms is a leader and humanitarian.

    • Dr. Arms has served in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Kenya and looks forward to continuing this service privilege to a larger extent.

    • For several years he attended courses at the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education in Key Biscayne, Florida; one of the most recognized educational facilities worldwide for dentistry.


    Dr. John Kempton

    John and his wife Chris moved to Northern Michigan in 1978, to establish a dental practice and raise their family in some of America's most scenic outdoor wonderland. The family experienced all of what makes our area special, including all of its outdoor activities... skiing, snowboarding, tennis, mountain biking, and boating. The kids are gone, but the memories of coaching countless little league games and driving to endless north country high school gymnasiums will live forever! John still enjoys tennis and golf, he volunteers in local leadership development in Charlevoix County, and can always be found with a few good books underway.

    To really unwind, you may find him on a cross country motorcycle trip taking in the scenic byways and growing a larger perspective...

  • Created and supervised a large state of the art practice in Charlevoix County; three dentists and twenty team members dedicated to compassionate caring.

  • Traci - Registered Dental Hygienist / Team Leader


    As a dental hygienist and team leader, Traci's passion for providing excellent dental care shines through.
    While practicing dental hygiene for over 20 years, she has been honored to serve many of her patients for all of those years. She thinks of her patients and her team as family.
    She proudly states, "I take great pride in telling people where my workplace is."
    While serving as a dental hygienist, Traci is honored to guide her patients through the journey of reaching optimal dental health and total body health.
    Traci enjoys exercising, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.





    Carole - Registered Dental Hygienist



    Carole is here to help you maintain your overall dental health by providing quality professional preventive care appointments. She is skilled at sharing information with you as she becomes familiar with your situation and she will answer your questions all along the way.
    While practicing dental hygiene for over 25 years, she appreciates the value of working for a quality-oriented dentist. She is glad to say that, "Our team delivers the highest quality dentistry and customer service of any office in the area."
    Carole enjoys walking, playing her flute, and working on do-it-yourself projects. She says that, "My greatest pleasure in life comes from spending time with my family."





    Rob - Registered Dental Hygienist / Multimedia Designer


    Rob considers it a privilege to help patients reach dental health goals in the clinical setting and through his use of multimedia technology, managing LifeSMILES web site and FaceBook page.
    Patients appreciate his caring, informative discussion and gentle touch.
    When he is not in the practice, Rob enjoys spending time with his two children and, also enjoys walking, digital photography, web design and snowboarding.




    Debra - Benefit Specialist

    Debra brings to LifeSMILES a diverse background in health, including 5 years dental knowledge, 19 years at the health department, she also has 2 years background in administration. This experience provides Debra the knowledge to efficiently work through dental benefits.
    Outside the office Debra enjoys spending time with her husband and family. Camping and riding bicycles are two activities that she and her husband especially look forward to.












    Lori - Clinical Assistant



    When the doctor can stay on schedule and focused on your oral health, your appointment runs smoothly and your schedule experiences no interruption. Patients find Lori to be a trusted professional who helps make that happen. Lori sees dentistry as an energetic profession, having served as a dental assistant since 1998. She said the team at LifeSMILES Dentistry has shown her how much fun it can be.
    She spends her time with family, camping, fishing, hiking, kayaking, doing crossword puzzles and playing guitar.





    Mandy - Clinical Assistant / Sleep Medicine Specialist



    As a clinical assistant, Mandy looks forward to giving patients the "best dental visit ever!" By focusing on patient comfort and on providing technologically advanced treatments, Mandy helps patients achieve the smile of their dreams. Mandy has training in sleep medicine and looks forward to making your life better and healthier with better sleep.
    Away from the practice, Mandy's daughters, Carmen and Riley, and her boys, Parker and Derek keep her busy with sports and outdoor activities. They also camp, bike, fish often, and garden.





    JoAnn - Appointment Coordinator



    JoAnn has been assisting patients in scheduling dental appointments in a timely manner since joining our team in 2001. When you call, you know JoAnn will value your time and make sure your needs are met. She will also help prepare you for what to expect at your appointment. "I find it rewarding to work with a team that is dedicated to the dental profession."
    JoAnn enjoys spending time with her family, and some of her personal interests include photography, knitting, cross-stitch and bicycling.

    Ashley - Registered Dental Hygienist / Health Coordinator



    Ashley has a gentle personality to assist you with your visit.
    She brings an informed perspective to the team, providing information about complete body health. When you visit with Ashley, you will receive a caring and informative experience as she helps you design a complete health plan, tailored to your needs.
    Outside the office setting, Ashley enjoys snowboarding in the winter, spending time mountain biking, and visiting with her family.





    Laura - Appointment Coordinator



    Laura's friendly and caring personality is ready to make your visit enjoyable at LifeSMILES.
    Helping you schedule your visits and to aid you with your questions is one of Laura's primary goals as she has 15 years experience working customer service. She says "the patients are so wonderful at LifeSMILES, that they deserve to be treated the very best."
    When Laura has free time, she enjoys visiting with her son in Montana, spending time with her family and close friends, her boxers (dogs) Tyson & Mia and taking time to work with her flowers and cake decorating.






    Lori - Benefit Coordinator


    Lori has been with LifeSMILES off-and-on for several years, usually behind the scenes dealing with insurance and financial information, after many years in both clinical and administrative ends at other dental offices. She takes great pride in working for an office that is able to provide world-class dentistry to its patients.
    When not in the office, she enjoys doing contracting work for the military, delivering dental services to servicemen throughout the Midwest.
    She also loves to travel, do needlework of any kind, and spending time with her new husband and three grandbabies.
